Test inputs and recordings

Mouse events, key events, controller values, and audio test data are processed in your browser. Our test code does not upload them or save them to persistent storage. Microphone recordings are temporary in-memory objects; Clear or reloading the page removes them. Tests request microphone access only after you press Start and stop microphone tracks when recording ends. The site does not request camera access.

Hosting and contact

The hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process IP addresses and request information to serve and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message. Include only information needed to answer your request. Contact contact@gearchecks.com for questions about personal information.

Optional ads and analytics

Advertising is currently disabled. This build includes no Google ad requests, ad slots, or advertising cookie notice.

When enabled and permitted, Google AdSense may use cookies or identifiers to deliver and measure ads. Google may process IP addresses, device information and browsing activity according to its own policy. Learn how Google uses information from partner sites. If the operator enables Google Analytics, it loads only after the same optional-service consent and records general page usage; our code never attaches test inputs or recordings to analytics events.

Privacy choices and local storage

When advertising is enabled, the site stores your choice to open optional services or continue without them for up to 180 days in local storage. Google’s consent platform may store its own choices. Use “Ad privacy choices” in the footer to reopen the selection. You may also clear this site’s browser storage and revoke microphone permission through browser settings. Blocking optional services does not affect any test.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information that an operator holds about you. Contact the address above for requests. Because we do not receive your test inputs, we cannot retrieve a history of your tests.
